DC Armoury started in 2009 with one very loud man and a sign on the stage at Lucky Bar in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. The goal was to give DC-based Arsenal supporters and visitors a place to watch the greatest football club in the world with good company and good food and drink. Fortunately, people agreed with this idea, and Arsenal supporters started coming in ever-increasing numbers. For twelve years, Lucky Bar was our home, until its closure in late 2021. After a trial run of different pubs, the Armoury then moved to Lou’s City Bar in Columbia Heights in early 2002. Over the next two seasons, our numbers grew even greater, to the point where we had to look for a larger venue. Franklin Hall welcomed us in 2024 ahead of the week-long preseason visit of Arsenal Women, and they have embraced us as their own.
Over the years, we’ve been very fortunate to have hosted legendary Arsenal captain and manager Terry Neill on three occasions, to have participated in the 2018 NBC Premier League Fan Fest in the District, and to have hosted the club for live matches in our area in 2019, 2023 and 2024. We’ve also been privileged to have our banner over the center of the Emirates’ North Bank for six months, and to have our logo added to the stadium’s exterior cladding in 2023. We’re pleased to have welcomed Gooners from all over the US, the UK and the world from our earliest days; when you’re visiting our nation’s capital, consider DC Armoury your home away from home.
